Everything else, everything about him cannot be validated.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8327433573289996257.post-11179297898879671832013-05-29T09:54:17.464-07:002013-05-29T09:54:17.464-07:00Because Jesus was not written about until 50 years...Because Jesus was not written about until 50 years after his death, everything documented about him, as well as all of the gospels, are hearsay parables. It is unlikely the authors were consciously lying when they wrote their tales and more likely those “historical” accounts were passed along verbally, as well as in written form. In itself, verbal accounting sets up a scenario for exaggeration and embellishments. It is much more likely that the initial formal Church made up the lies and then passed those on to the people. There is much evidence that the first church, in concert with the ruling head, set itself up to lead, corral, and control the people, as well as set up the parameters for the rules of behavior relative to heaven and hell afterlife. Granted, it does appear that the merits of traditional religion, based on a traditional god, is flimsy. However, the existence of a sort of cosmic-collective, foundational for the existence of a greater power, is not out of the realm of possibility. In terms of the two words, “knowing” versus “believing,” as an attorney, you should grasp that the former requires proof, but the latter does not, and that should have been taught in one of your critical thinking/logic classes in college. duckyackAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
